Do you have a question on Beauty that you'd like answered by Anuroop's Beauty Expert ? If so then click here

1. I have a combination (sensitive) skin. My wedding is scheduled after three months. What should be my beauty routine? How can I have a spotless and glowing skin?
You need to use hypoallergenic products, which should be fragrant-free, not very thick and colour-free as far as possible. Any “colour” in the creams indicates pigments which will only harm the skin. Once you have identified the products you want to use, stick to the same till the wedding .To prepare for your wedding, you must start visiting a salon once very fortnight for the first two months. It would be better that you carry your own face creams, shampoos, hair brushes etc. At the salon, ask to be given ozone treatment. For your facials, remember again to use natural, hypoallergenic products. Chamomile powder, whey and fresh neem leaves are very good and soothing ingredients, which should be used in the face pack. Very important is not to take a steam in the facial. Given your skin-type, a steam may result in rashes or eruptions. back to questions

2. I have oily hair and a dry skin. My nose also tends to get extremely oily. Please advise if there is one thing I can use for lessening the shine on my skin.
You are obviously in the T-zone range. In addition to your regular cleaning routine, you need to apply astringent on your nose. To prevent shine on the face, you can use anti-shine jars, which are readily available in the market.

3. My hair which has always been straight is now beginning to curl. I am 28 years old. Is it some hormonal change ? What can I do to keep it straight?
It would have helped me to know if you are colouring your hair. That sometimes interferes with the hair texture. If yes, alternate the use of hair colour with henna. You will also need to invest in jumbo rollers and a jumbo hairbrush, which should be used in conjunction with the hair dryer.

4. Please give a recipe for a home-remedy pedicure which will be easy for a man to make.
For a home pedicure you will need a mixing bowl, a capful each of shampoo and hydrogen peroxide, a hoof stick, pumice stone, a nail cutter, emery board and a nail file. You can prepare the foot pack using half a cup of besan, two tbs curd, one tbs of olive oil and a few drops of lemon. Mix all the ingredients well and then apply to a foot, which has been cleaned and dipped in warm soapy water. Scrub off the dead skin using the hoof stick, cut and file the softened nails and towel dry.

5. My eyes hurt a lot and I am developing bags under them. They could be hurting as I do computer work. But work is unavoidable. Please tell me how to look after my eyes and do away with the puffiness and dark circles.
It is imperative that you rest your eyes every 15 minutes. You should also exercise them by blinking and rotating them. At the end of the day cover the eyes with cotton balls soaked in raw, chilled milk or potato slices for about 10 minutes.

6. Why do some pimples leave behind pock marks on the face and how to avoid it? Also I would like to know if something can be done to eliminate the existing pock marks?
Pockmarks are formed usually when you have scratched the pimples or if you have tried to remove them with a blackhead remover. In case there is a heavy sprouting of pockmarks you may need to go in for a surgical procedure called Demabrasion. At home, you could try exfoliation with oats and cornflour mixed in equal proportions. Make a paste and apply on the marks. Once dry, do not remove with your hands but rub very gently with a soft Turkish towel. This process should be repeated daily. Use face packs with a base of Multani mitti, lemon rind, a drop or two of lemon and ground young neem leaves.

7. I have an oily skin and due to this a lot of black heads. Inspite of getting rid of them most often they form again. What should I do?

8. is mehendi good for hiding white hair?i have heard that hair becomes dry from the roots!moreover i do not have lots but want to avoid dyeing..what do u suggest?also how often should i apply mehendi?
Henna or Mehendi has a drying essence. In order to combat dryness, use egg yolk and curd. Sometimes you can also use amla and shikakai boiled in water mixed along with egg yolk and curd. But this mixture should not be kept in hair for more than 1 hour or so. Since you have very little grey hair, henna can be used once a fortnight.Henna is good when used as a conditioner. Also when your grey hair percentage is about 30[[%]], you can use Level 1 of semi colourant which do not contain ammonia or peroxide. This is good for the hair leaving hair healthy unlike dye. It comes in premixed bottles and the popular brands are Loreal, Loving Care by Clairol and Kadus. back to questions

9. i am suffering from psoriasis..is it curable?what shampoo shud i use?i have been told to use ionax T..is it safe?any medication necesssary?please guide me.
Psoriasis is curable through alternative medication. Intake of evening prim rose oil as much as 4 capsules a day can tackle the problem internally. This is a herbal oil extract which is very effective in the scalp. Over and above what you are using, Bathe your hair in neem leaves soaked overnight in a bucket of water. This is external cure for Psoriasis which is anti bacterial and anti fungal. Any strong medication is not always recommended. Also you must increase the intake of Vitamin E in your diet. This prevents dryness. It is very important to maintain hygiene by using clean pillowcovers, wide tooth combs and clean ones. You may also take 2, 3 sticks of Chareita, soak it in water overnight and drink it on an empty stomach. Do not consume anything for about half an hour after this. This should be for a period of 40 days. Chareita acts as the best blood purifier.

10. Please let me know how to get rid of freckles. I seem to be allergic to the sun, and have tried using all kinds of sunblocks. I have also visited many skin specialists, but the freckles just don't seem to go. My age is 40 years. Could it be a hormonal imbalance? -
It is important to know the colour of your freckles and if they are spreading. If the latter is true and their colour is dullish brown, it is almost certainly a case of liver malfunction. In this case you will need to get your liver checked and treated. However, if the freckles are not spreading and are reddish in colour you have no choice but to avoid going out in the sun as much as possible. You will have to use sun blocks to protect your skin. In addition, remember to use a sunshade, dark glasses and an umbrella
